Jem has been adding films to a Vimeo on Demand page where titles can be “rented” for personal streaming. Please do not use for public/classroom screenings. (For those, see the Distribution link.) Especially in light of job loss related to the pandemic, it is increasingly important to support artists via renting and buying their work online…

I am pleased to have worked with violinist and old friend, Jessica Moss, on a film for the release of her new track, “Opened Endings.”

New short re Jonas Mekas for Criterion, New Xylouris White film

A new short film, Makeshift (for Mekas) is up on the Criterion Channel. It was commissioned as part of their Mekas series/homage.

A short film I made in conjunction with the release of Sam Stephenson’s wonderful book, Gene Smith’s Sink (regarding the photographer W. Eugene Smith) is now up on the Paris Review website.

GRAVITY HILL SOUND+IMAGE at Marfa Myths Fest 2018

GRAVITY HILL SOUND+IMAGE will present a show of films with live music at Marfa, TX, in the Marfa Myths Festival (April 12-15, 2018).

Musicians will be Jessica Moss, Guy Picciotto, Jim White, and George Xylouris.

Artists on Artworks talk at the Met 7/17; COUNTING opens in NYC 7/31

Jem will be giving an Artists on Artworks talk at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on July 17 at 6:30 pm.

He has been invited to select and lead a guided tour to 4 works of art.
