New short re Jonas Mekas for Criterion, New Xylouris White film

A new short film, Makeshift (for Mekas) is up on the Criterion Channel. It was commissioned as part of their Mekas series/homage. A new video, Tree Song for Xylouris White (7:25, 2019, HD) on Drag City. Shot in the desert, sun went down.

A short film I made in conjunction with the release of Sam Stephenson’s wonderful book, Gene Smith’s Sink (regarding the photographer W. Eugene Smith) is now up on the Paris Review website.

COUNTING: U.S. Premiere at BAM Cinemafest June 27 at 4pm

Jem’s new feature film, which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, will have its U.S. premiere at BAM Cinemafest The film has been picked up by Cinema Guild for distribution, and will begin its theatrical run in NYC in the summer, at the IFC theater.

COUNTING premieres at BERLINALE, picked up by Cinema Guild

Jem’s new feature, COUNTING, premiered in the 2015 Berlin Film Festival in the Forum section. Following their release of MUSEUM HOURS, Cinema Guild has picked up the new film and will represent it for both U.S. and international sales and distribution.
